Chinese Fu Dog Set is cast in polystone resin and measure about 6 1/2 inches high x 4 inches long and about 2 3/4 inches wide. They are gold in color with a brass effect very nice facial and back detail.
The set includes a small card explaining the Chinese mythology behind the Fu Dog statues. One Fu Dog is Male and one is Female The Male has his foot resting on the ball (symbolic for the world) he is protecting his home, his house. The Female has her foot resting upon a small baby Fu Dog (Symbolic of family) She is protecting the family.
Fu Dogs are normally placed at entrances to ward off evil and robbers from the home. Very interesting Chinese tradition and a lovely pair of Fu Dogs.
